Commission an original artwork created especially for you.
I accept a limited number of private and creative commissions throughout the year. Each commission is approached as an original artwork rather than simply a reproduction of a photograph.
The process begins with a conversation about the subject, the atmosphere you want the piece to carry, the size of the artwork and where it will eventually live. From there, I develop the composition and visual direction before creating the final piece in my mixed-media painting style.
Commissions can include personal or family portraits, individual portraits, meaningful photographs reinterpreted as paintings, music and album artwork, pieces inspired by a particular memory or story, and bespoke artworks created for private interiors or collectors.
My aim is to keep the likeness and emotional character of the subject while bringing the painting into my own visual language — layered surfaces, expressive brushwork, drawing, texture, fragments of colour and areas that move between clarity and abstraction.
Every commission is different. Some pieces remain quiet and restrained, while others are more raw, graphic and expressive. The direction is developed around the subject while still remaining recognisably part of my work.
For portrait commissions, high-quality reference photographs are ideal, although I can also work with older photographs where appropriate. We can discuss dimensions, composition, colour palette and any particular details you would like incorporated into the painting.
Once the direction is agreed, I will confirm the price, estimated completion time and delivery arrangements before work begins.
